I've worked as a waitress, I've worked the midnight shift, I've worked retail, I've worked the corporate gig, and plenty more. When I was in high school, I wanted to be a freelance photographer. What a bold and brave aspiration that was.

The life of a freelancer sounds inviting and comfortable, even glamorous. But it's the toughest job I've ever had. When the freelance engine is purring, and the work is constant and reliable, life is great. But during the slow times - when clients are scarce and there's little or no work - life is scary. And challenging.
